Athene Noctua biography
Mondovì/Cuneo based ATHENE NOCTUA (Little Owl) were founded in September 2006 starting with an idea of Simone Rossi (drums), Andrea Bailo (guitar) and Cristiano Rossi (bass). With their past experiences, while playing punk rock and metal, they continued their activity creating new rock songs more meditative than before. Their music is influenced by historical bands like Pink Floyd, Air, Tortoise, and from 70's prog in general.

In the first two years - though their sound and ideas haven't been so defined yet - the band improved its way of composing and started having some shows in Italy and all over the Europe too, In 2008 they recorded their first auto-produced demo called 'Athene Noctua'. Tommaso Fia (keyboards) joined the band at the end of 2010 who gives a better quality to the sound. In March 2011 ATHENE NOCTUA produced their new EP, 'Glayx', an entertaining exemplar containing a crossover of prog music styles with the emphasis on psychedelic moments.
