The Halifax Pier biography
US band THE HALIFAX PIER originated out of Kentucky in 1998, and consisted of Charles Sommer (vocals, guitars), Greg Burns (bass), Claire Monty (cello), Forrest Kuhn (drums), Nathan Salsburg (vocals, guitars) and Jaime Reeder (vocals, violin). They released their self-titled debut album on the Temporary Residence Limited in 1999, who also catered for their sophomore 2001 disc "Put Your Gloves On and Wave". It is thought that the band disbanded not long after this.

The Halifax Pier's brand of folk-oriented post rock has been described as a hybrid of gloomy folk and quiet chamber music.
