VITAL TECH TONES was an American fusion trio formed by guitarist Scott HENDERSON. The name came to be by combining main acts of members, HENDERSON's TRIBAL TECH, Steve SMITH's VITAL INFORMATION, and Victor WOOTEN from BELA FLECK & THE FLECKTONES. The members that showcased their talents in their respective jazz fusion groups have in this side project inserted more rock and less jazz, which was the way HENDERSON wanted to improvise with, not unlike Jeff BECK or Jimi HENDRIX. The band released two albums before spliting up because of other projects with only rumours of a future reunion.
