Bat Castle biography
Founded in 1999 in Denton, Texas, BAT CASTLE's adventurous nature sets them apart from most death metal acts, utilizing gothic inspired keyboards, vocals that shift from death metal gutturals to almost vaudeville-like operatics and a tongue in cheek approach to some of the vampire-themed lyrical content. They also possess no shortage of techical flair and a penchant for blasting out with furious tempos brandishing complex melodies. Featuring members from SHAOLIN DEATH SQUAD during their evolution, BAT CASTLE offers an array of stylistic shifts and plenty of avant-garde influences concerning their sound, merging some of goth rock's garish extravagance with the frenetic, pulverizing pulse of extreme metal. So far they have released a six track demo in 2004 and one full length album entitled "The Book" in 2008. The band is currently comprised of BC LEWIS: MINISTER OF DARKNESS on vocals and guitars, Rob ORTIZ on guitars, Owen MCCLOSKEY on drums and Joel MILLER on bass.
