Arenal picture
Arenal biography
A Chilean group from Valparaiso, found in 1999 with the original line-up consisting of Sandro Fernandez on guitar, Marcelo Ortiz on drums and Gustavo Celedon on bass. A couple of years later Celedon was replaced by Victor Avila and keyboardist Daniel Nanjari enters the picture, followed by drummer Marcelo Zamora, who replaced Ortiz. This core recorded Arenal's debut ''A Tres Cuadras Del Mar'' in 2003.A long period of silence follows with some line-up changes before a stable line-up would allow the group to record a second album around 2009. Fernandez and Nanjari were now joined by bassist Matias Ittura and drummer Raul Vallejos and the second album of Arenal ''Cabernet Sauvignon'' sees the light in 2011 on Mylodon Records, combining Neo/Symphonic vibes with a touch of Prog Metal and Fusion. After the release the group's line-up was again shaken with Diego Vega and Rodrigo Araya replacing Ittura and Vallejos respectively.
