Droban-Apherna biography
DROBAN-APHERNA is an experimental instrumental band formed in Silves in 2008. The group started out under the name 'Estes' and originally formed by Pedro CALQUINHA and Andre MARQUES; after their third album they were joined by the drummer Samuel SILVA. Group's music is fusion in a literal sense, while they are influenced by jazz, their records feature folk, blues, funk and other influences which in the case of their second album for example can span over many genres in 99 tracks into one complex piece. Their latest concept record up to date 'Drubahaal' was released in 2011 and is less eclectic and just a tad more accessible which explores the theme of video games musically and parallel to it follows a story made in video format.
