NEAR NEPTUNE are a progressive metal trio, formed in Denton, Texas in June 2010, consisting of Aaron VERNON (Guitars), Luke CADWALLADER-DANIEL (Bass) and Jeremy DOSS (Drums). The initial incarnation of the band included Nathan PLACE on drums and went by the name FIERCE BAND!, which released a demo in 2011. The first official release is called ''Navigation'' and was self-produced by the band. It saw the light in December 2013. NEAR NEPTUNE cite CHON, SCALE THE SUMMIT, RUSH, OPETH, and BLACK SABBATH among their influences, which make their way into the debut producing a sound that covers a range from heavy prog to technical progressive metal, reminiscent at times to DREAM THEATER.
