Pawa Up First biography
PAWA UP FIRST (sometimes just called PAWA UP) is a band from Montreal that started out as a studio project by guitarist Serge NAKAUCHI PELLETIER and Mathieu PONTBRIAND around 2004. In the line-up for the first album they were soon joined by Sandy BELFORT on keyboards and drummer Joseph PERRAULT. Slowly they changed around their line-up that stabilized as a quintet of guitar, bass, synths and drums that worked with collaborators like trumpet players, laptop musicians and rap artists with whom they had a very big repertoire of musical styles to work with. Therefore their four albums released up to 2013 have a brand of post rock that is inspired by cinematic and jazz music, but also by hip hop and dub music as well.
