Illuminati biography
Romania's ILLUMINATI is a progressive death metal act that channels acts such as PESTILENCE, CYNIC and especially ATHIEST while adding their own eccentric qualities to the mix. Numerous forays into unexpected flute solos, vocoder usage, tribal drumming and ambient atmospheric passages are just some of the surprises one can find within their technical style of death metal.

Founded in 2008, the band began working on material while playing numerous gigs until in 2010 when the band took an undesired hiatus. In 2013, the band resumed activities and released their first album entitled ''The Core''. Featuring numerous guest appearances from acts such as GORGUTS, NOCTURNUS, VOIVOD and others, ILLUMINATI seems determined to join the fold of recognized extreme technical metal bands.

The members are Andrei POPA on guitars, vocals and synths, Petre IFTIMIE on guitars, and Matei TIBACU-BLENDIA on drums, bass and vocals.
