Grand Master biography
From Winnipeg, Canada this progressive metal band was founded in 2007. The members are Shane BARRON on guitar and vocals, Matt KATHLER (drums, vocals), Mark BARRON (keyboards,vocals, guitar, violin) and Alec SCHAEFER (bass, vocals). They were very active opening for bands such as 3 INCHES BLOOD, INTO ETERNITY and DEVIN TOWNSEND PROJECT. All the musicians came from different musical background classical and modern. The music can be electric and acoustic with influences from the modern progressive metal bands and the traditional heavy metal genre. They cited influences with bands like DREAM THEATER HELLOWEEN and OPETH but that doesn't give all the picture to the diversity of their music. They have 2 EP and 2 albums : "The Dream Alive" (2012) and recently "Saligia" (2015).
