INI biography
INI is an avantgarde metal based out of Trondheim, Norway. Founded in 2006 under the moniker REVOCATION, the band eventually went into hiatus until 2010 when they changed the band name to INI. They abandoned their old material and strove for a more progressive sound, resulting in an act that incorporates numerous influences into their overall sound. There is a strong black metal current in regards to atmosphere along with complex musicianship and dissonant chord progressions akin to certain technical death metal acts. There's also numerous forays into jazz music as well as poet rock ambiance. Above the fray, the vocals deliver their themes of life, science and philosophy utilizing both clean and harsh singing, switching back and forth at any given time. In 2015 the band released their first full length album entitled If Nothing Is and later that year a single called Dodecahedron.

The current roster includes Lars E. MALOY (composer, producer, bass, guitars, cello, backing vocals, lyrics), BOEDDELEN (lead vocals, lyrics), Vegard M. BERG (drums, lyrics, beats, clean vocals), Håkon Grytvik (electric guitar, classical guitar), and Mats STENBERG (electric guitar).
