Tetelestai biography
Hailing from Baltimore, Maryland, Tetelestai are (or were) a bit of a rarity, a Neo Prog band from the USA. Lead by guitarist Bill Vencil, Tetelestai released just the one self-titled album in 1984, albeit prior to that they had released some songs on cassette only.

The band line-up at this point was Bill Vencil - Guitars, Marc Fuller - Vocals and keyboards, Mark Reeve - Guitar and vocals, Pat Schroeder - Drums and Jim Wall - Bass.

Steeped in the early-mid 80s sound, Tetelestai are worth a listen, particularly for those who took an interest in the ?Prog Rock Revival? that was sweeping the UK at that time. Musically they are strong, and share a lot in common with UK bands such as Twelfth Night. Lyrically, the album is religiously based which may put some off, and the dramatic vocals are an acquired taste.

The band are long since inactive, and finding more information regarding the bands progress and success back in the mid-80s has proven extremely difficult. However, Bill Vencil continues to make music, and his latest project Chords of Orion, which is more steeped in ambient and post rock sounds, very promising.
