PERIPLO

Periplo biography
Forming in Genoa in 2006, PERIPLO is a collaboration between vocalist and lyricist Fausto Sidri (who has connections to Fabio Zuffanti's HOSTSONATEN) and composer/keyboardist/arranger Luca Scherani, also of that group as well as LA COSCIENZA DI ZENO. Initially a project performing live for the first few years, 2011 began to see the participation of additional musicians, with proper recording soon after and a debut album on the Mellow Records label in September 2014.

`Diario di un Malessere Passeggero' (`Diary of a Sick Passenger') is a sweeping acoustic mix of folk, jazz, theatrical, rock-in-opposition and classical-flavoured chamber prog but with a focus on strong song-writing and constant overly swooning vocals. Sounding like a mix of the first ARMONITE album, LOCANDA DELLE FATE's debut, NICHELODEON and modern song-based RPI groups such as MOSAICO, it's a gentle, mature and luxurious first release from a tasteful and sophisticated group of musicians.
