SILENT CRIES AND MIGHTY ECHOES

The end of an era. The last production from The Big Four - Bornemann, Schmidtchen, Matziol, Rosenthal. This 'golden' line-up made three studio albums, and all the three are masterpieces of highest caliber. Many people say that Eloy's music never became so majestic since then, and I think they are right. Silent Cries And Mighty Echoes is usually not rated as highly as Ocean, but perhaps it deserves even a higher rating than Ocean in some aspects. For example, at least IMHO, it's better constructed as a concept album than Ocean (but worse than Dawn). The undoubted highlights are The Apocalypse and De Labore Solis.
