3 stars Forgotten Brazilian band from Porto Alegre, formed in 1994 with a stable five-piece line-up, including a female keyboardist, Karina aka Ka Lunn. The rest of the crew were singer Joao Marques, drummer Bolo Bang, bassist/guitarist Adelamir Luiz and guitarist Bili Netti. They released their only album ''Danca dos ventos'' on the Brazilian label Progressive Rock Worldwide in 1995.

Band's name is fully representative of Cinema Show's style, which was an elaborate Symphonic Rock heavily inspired by GENESIS but also with strong links to the music of early MARILLION.Long tracks with smooth and intricate arrangements, balanced nicely between guitar and keyboard deliveries, featuring extended instrumental passages with even some very complex ideas and plenty of changing climates.Only one track is sung in English with most of the lyrics coming in Portuguese, however there is not even slightest Latin-American vibe in the album, which is so British-sounding it often flirts with plagiarazing. The music though is pretty great with some great melodies and beautiful, dreamy keyboard parts of symphonic grandieur, while the vast amount of synthesizers come in a very MARK KELLY style. The length of the pieces provides tha appropriate instrumental room for decent interplays and long, melodious soundscapes and the nostalgic 70's stylings are more than obvious throughout the album.Fortunately the quality of the contained material is sufficient, because the production of the album is a bit muddy and at moments below average.

A lost pearl of 90's Neo/Symphonic Prog with lots of interesting moments and impressive arrangements and a strong candidate for all fans of MARILLION, GENESIS, YES, CAMEL and IQ.
