3 stars This new CD (plus bonus DVD) by the legendary Hungarian band Omega is similar to their previous harder-edged material of the last 10 years. In fact you cannot compare the recent Omega with the Seventies progrock band with the 2-LP Live At The Kisstadion as my favorite Omega work

From the very frist beginning of this new album Omega plays a bit polished rock featuring fiery guitarplay and a lush Hamond organ sound from this very distinctive vintage keyboard. Especially in the dynamic first song we can enjoy a swirling Hammond solo. In some tracks Omega plays more mellow or dreamy, often embellished with wonderful and sensitive electric guitar soli and a flashy synthesizer solo in one song. The bonus DVD contains studio footage and three live tracks featuring a very professional and enthousiastic playing Omega, hailed by many thousand fans, from young to very old. The most important veteran members are the 60+ singer (with long curly hair and a tight leather trouser) and the killer guitarplayer who treats us frequently on propulsive riffs and often fiery soli.

If you don't have a problem with the harder-edged and more polished sound, this Omega ill please you.
