While Pure Reason Revolution prepare their much anticipated sophomore album (much anticipated, at least, by ME), they released this new song through their MySpace webpage. What can I say about this track? At just under 4 minutes, it isn't very explicit in terms of showing just how much the band evolved. It sounds like something they could have done before their first album, for what we know... It does not differ a lot from their previous work, and could easily fit in their debut album.

Or could it?

Generally, it sounds very similar in composition - lush vocal harmonies, heavy riffs, tasteful electronic effects. However, somehow, it seems more radio-friendly than most of the tracks present on The Dark Third. Obviously I'm not going to make judgements on what is to come, regarding their next work, based solely on 3:37 of (new) music. As a single release it serves its purpose - it entertains and leaves your mouth watering. As a progressive rock track, I must admit I've heard a lot better by them. As a plain alternative rock song, so far I like it very much. And whatever the direction they choose to take on their second album, I'l still be waiting in anticipation. Eagerly.
