4 stars To kill two birds with one stone!

Master multi-instrumentalist and electro/acoustic composer, Steve Roach has been lately on a highly fortuitous and prolific creative streak. From his 2012's "Back to Life", "Groove Immersion" and "Soul Tones" among 7 other albums in the same year, going through his 2013's "Rasa Dance", "Future Flows" and masterpiece "Spiral Meditations", also among 4 "live" releases that same year, comes 2014 with the extraordinary "The Delicate Forever" which spinned off this "The Delicate Beyond", also among 4 other 2014 releases, up to now.

This "The Delicate Beyond", uses the first 2 songs of its matrix album ("The Delicate Forever" and "Well Spring") and delivers in the same tenor, spirit and almost identical songwriting, a super extended version of both songs. (1 hour & 13 minutes +-.)

Therefore we prog/electronic audiophiles get a double treat! An album that covers all the prog/electronic "protocols", adding Steve Roach's vision and revealing him as one of its most unique and creative survivors, but also an album which closes the gap between "Electronic" and "Ambient" music, without stopping to be either one.

A jewel by its own, although I do prefer "The Delicate Forever", this cd complements the whole concept, making it in part "essential", if you got already the "first" cd.

****4 "pure bliss" PA stars.
