3 stars I only knew NEKTAR when sometime in seventies a local magazine down here at my country, AKTUIL, released a compilation cassette titled as "Rock Vibrations" where there was one track from Nektar called "Fidgety Queen". The music was quite strange for my ears but with more spin, I come to an enjoyment stage of the music. This compilation CD helps widen my horizon towards NEKTAR music. The music is a good balance between hard rock, psychedelic and space music. Since then I purchased the full fledge album "Recycled" by Nektar. That was the only exploration and experience that I got with Nektar and I did enjoy the album. In fact, it was very difficult to find other Nektar albums in the seventies during that time, in my country.

So when this compilation that comprises double CDs covering the best of Nektar in seventies I was so interested with the CD. In fact when I started spinning the CD, my initial reaction was that I enjoy the music. It flows beautifully with quite good melodies and tight arrangements. As far as harmonies, I can find the band tries to blend the sounds of classic rock music with psychedelic as well as symphonic style. I especially enjoy the intertwining roles of keyboards and guitar throughout the passages of the music. Long tracks like "Remember The Future" (Part One) is a good one - combining classic sounds and the work of keyboards. "Unendless Imaginations" is also a good one with varied styles and relatively long duration.

Overall, this compilation might not represent the best Nektar has ever released but it's a good prog collection.
