3 stars The DVD is split into two shows. The first is a MASSIVE outdoor festival in Holland in 1996. The second show is an intimate venue in Poland from '97. The locations could not be more different. The outdoor gig suffers from fairly poor sound and that was a problem for me I'll admit. But the Poland gig had great sound and I enjoyed that one much more. The video quality is good for both although again the Poland show is better having more control of the stage.

The band reminds me most of "Zombie" era Cranberries, with powerful passionate vocals backed up by middle gear power chord alt rock guitars. Anneke has great presence on stage. She has a "cat ate the canary" mischievous grin that recalls that sexy look Tori Amos flashes during certain verses. She's an incredible vocalist with great range of emotion. She reminded me at times of Shirley Manson. The band seems content to basically back her up. They are competent for sure but stick to heavy power chords and riff based playing. They certainly don't offer much in the flash department to those looking for great soloing. But that's fine. They are mainly creating atmosphere on the mellower stuff and rocking out on the hard rock numbers. The drums are quite nimble and reminded me a bit of Paatos, and the keys add some nice color filling in behind the heavy guitars. Progressive? I don't see how but I suppose a few of the longer tracks dabbled in fringe proggy areas. It's all good fun, energetic alternative rock to me. Between the two shows are videos for Leaves and Liberty Bell, both showing the band's talent in the visuals arena.

I find out after viewing this that Anneke has left the band. I can't imagine how this group will continue without her. Without wishing to hurt the feelings of the band my impression is frankly that she is the heart and soul of what I was watching. But they are auditioning both males and females so perhaps they will turn a completely new page and be just fine. Best of luck to both camps!
