4 stars Traumpfad from Germany , released so far 3 albums under this name in their 15 years career so far, but gone under the radar of prog listners. I will try to talk about their second offer from 2006 named Die Kreise schließen sich translated in ( The circles close). Well, from the all 3 albums, this is their most intresting one and above all , a damn catchy and intelligent release. I was more then pleasent surprised when I first heared this one few years back, I'm am today in same mood like in the past. The lyrics and voice in german, is perfect fiting in the music overall this german language, it giving a certtain power in overall sound, great. Now, the instrumental sections are powerful, well written, very strong musicinship all over from start to finish. With this release they got some recognition in prog circles, but with all that they are still under rated big time, this album proving that they need a far more recognition. Back to the music, it's like heavy prog with some neo prog added but in the end is not a traditional neo prog band, is more riff orientated sometimes, in other parts is quite melodic, very strong are the keyboards sections and together with the guitar are real delight. The music has enough complexity and complicated passages to be intristing to all prog fans, imagine a combination of neo prog a la Ziff (also from Germany) with heavy prog elements thrown in. I really like what I've heared and for that reson 4 stars easy, one of the unfairly unknown albums in prog zone, the album is still available on their web page at good price. 4 stars for sure, a nice aone all the way.
