4 stars Impressive live album featuring a collection of the Beardies best music. For anyone that has been living on Mars, Spocks Beard are one of the top modern symphonic prog bands for both consistency of output and instrumental dynamics.Neal Morse and his brother Alan were very much the mainstays at this point although nowadays the devoutly religious Neal has chosen to plough his own furrow (and very successfully too).Backed up by the excellent Nick D'Vigilio (drums) ,Dave Meros (bass) and the superb keys work of Ryo Okumoto they rarely hit a wrong note.Powerfull stuff but always well constructed and melodic (some hints of Gentle Giant even) this is a thoroughly enjoyable live album.Soundwise it stands up very well with no real dilution of the sonic qualities that can sometimes happen with live albums.Very nearly perfect but I tend to believe that few if any live albums can be regarded 5 star masterpeices so in this case I award 4 with my highest recommendation for a live album.
