3 stars Beduinos a gasoleo is a young band from Portugal with only one album since now from 2007. At first listning I was a little confused about the music, because here is mixed bag of everything that is prog, symphonic arrangements combined with eclectic moments, mellow parts interplayed with acustic guitar than flute combined with trombone, quite a progressive soup. After some spins I begun to understand more the passages, how they work here what they want to give to the listner. The music also is reach in and bombastic in places with great keyboards arrangements and nice shifting moods from flute to saxophone and trombone. Also a very important element here is the voice of Janita Salomé, who features only on first piece - Canto IV , the longest and the most pretentious from here, her voice is very well interplayed with th voice of José Carlos Fialho, a male-female duo who sometimes reaches to a beuty atmosphere hard to describe in words. The album is made only from 3 pieces, all 3 very long with long instruental passages, reach in moods and bombastic arrangements. Only thing I don't like here at this albums , sometimes is a little to mellow, and this mellowness is to long, and you may lose the core very easy, because you get bored at some point, in rest is ok. Finaly 3 stars for this debute, a good album as a whole, maybe weaker in places if I divide it, but generaly a worthy album. Good but non essential, similar band Magenta.
