3 stars Withoutending is an australian progressive metal band who release one album since now selftitled in 2004. I do some searches on net and found out that are two bands with almost same name Withoutend and Withoutending, same line up same cover art aswell. Well I have in front of me my CD released at progrock records and his name is Withoutending, don't really know what is all about with the other title. So this australian band did a pleasent job here, nothing grounbreaking , nothing spectacular, only some decent pieces who pleases most of the prog metal listners. The album is filled with nice guitar riffs who interplays very well with key passages and the warm and good voice of Nicholas Georgakopoulos who is aswell the drumer, figer that the vocalist is also the drumer, like in the golden period of rock , the '70's. The best pieces are the opening track Again, nice shift and breaks here on this piece and the last track the smooth The Third Day, great are the piano elements from here, great voice aswell. Now some real boring moments are aswell here like on the longest track I Still Remember, 8 minutes of total deseppointment, repeted choruses that makes me going to sleep, Compulsion is another desaster. So,this album as a whole is good, the good moments are in bigger number than the bad ones, so I will give 2,5 rounded to 3, nothing special, but I think worth to be heared at least once.
