4 stars A great folk album! Fresh Maggots alternates between electric and acoustic folk, holding the listener's attention throughout. What makes the album great is that a fast-paced electric guitar solo is followed by a mellow folk track with soft harmonies (for example, "Dole Song" followed by "Rosemary Hill" and the track "Everyone's Gone to War"). It's pretty amazing that only two young men were able to accomplish an album like this, with strings and winds in addition to the standard folk instruments, so kudos to Mick Burgoyne and Leigh Dolphin.

I recommend this album for all fans of Dr. Strangely Strange, Trees, Sunforest, and Synanthesia, and for those who enjoy this album to check out those bands.
