4 stars ATON FIVES's SOLARSTALGIA comes out of the gates swinging. The four tracks are powerful, fast, with catchy riffs, harmonizing synth, and solos that straight up rip - HARD. The fifth song on the LP, 'MILKY WAY INCIDENT', a longer song filled with many extended guitar solos but doesn't come across as head-bang worthy as the previous highlight tracks 'JOURNEY' and 'A CHAIN OF EVENTS', however it is still an exceptional arrangement.

The latter half of the album loses a touch of the high energy tempo. The last song 'THE ENDLESS DESERT' timing in at over 17 minutes, is where my interest completely dissipated. The track was slow going, repetitive, drawn-out and almost lacked a clear direction, with exception of the final minute or so of the song. Overall a sort of dull and disappointing way to end an otherwise crushing instrumental record.
