1 stars I actually think this is Haken's worst album.

After releasing a pretty mediocre effort, "Aquarius", Haken decided to start sounding like Dream Theater even more. And they actually did it, can you believe it? This album sounds more like Dream Theater than Dream Theater! Except it doesn't have the creativity and inspiration that Dream Theater usually has in their records.

This album took me two sittings to listen entirely because it was really, really uninteresting. No surprises at all, just typical progressive metal. The tracks are unnecessarily long, like Nocturnal Conspiracy and the god-awful title track, the latter one being a poor attempt at a prog metal epic. They repeat themselves a lot and they just stop you from wanting to continue listening the album. Melody-making is the strong point of the album, but repetitions make these melodies stale very quickly.

Highly overrated, don't understand all the praise it gets. It's miles, I repeat, *miles* away from being a masterpiece. One Star, heavily disappointed.
