4 stars In the music character that he did for the activity of the music of Jaco Pastorius, it might be a well-known fact to have kept always causing the revolution in the field of Jazz/Fusion. The period from his debut in the kingdom of music to the death was about 12 years. Especially, there might be a lot of works of the Jaco Pastorius name including the album of the Big band that he formed. However, a lot of sound sources that had been announced after he had died on September 21, 1987 always struck close to home to the listener. How does he understand and does whether it was absorbed in the challenge to music really understand to compete with various musicians?

However, it is also true in his private life that mental of that and a physical situation had deteriorated contrary to the wonderful performance that he did in the Big band. A lot of situations in which music was purely created might have worked to make musicians who besieged him at the same time as being lost reborn of him, too.

It has surely gnawed at him to the influence of alcohol and the drug. The musician who existed in surroundings of Jaco Pastorius in the flow of the situation showed deference to him and was performing many. However, the latter half of the especially 80's was an age of the misfortune for Jaco Pastorius. It had the exchange with various musicians after especially 1985. However, Jaco Pastorius did not have physical strength that participated in other musicians' albums and carried out all work. His body would have been especially a limit at this time.

This album can be counted for Jaco Pastorius as one of the works of him of later years. Pat Metheny, Bireli Lagrene, and Mike Stern that supports it as musician who surrounds ゙. And, to be desperately reborn of Jac Pastorius, the musician such as Brian Melvin also who were the old friends of Jaco Pastorius might have taken care with. And, the member of this Trio was especially a companion in the situation who had deeply supported Jaco.

A lot of albums for the series that was called "Live In New York City" were put on the market in 1985. To our regret, the series is put on the market in the state of Bootleg. And, it is possible to catch along with the performance to which the content of "Vol,2" and "Vol,4" of the series is done with this album. Hiram Bullock and Kenwood Dennard that performs as basic Trio are developed from the performance of "Live In NYC" further and reach Trio that is called this "PDB".

This album is an album that put the appearance of live done in Boston on February 1, 1986. And, this album was an album that had been announced after Jaco Pastorius had departed this world. Jaco Pastorius was said that mental had deteriorated in the process of doing some rehearsals and live and advancing the activity of this "PDB". This band is guessed that Hiram Bullock seized the initiative substantially in the part. And, the deterioration of the state by Jaco Pastorius repeated hospitalization and leaving hospital. This "PDB" never started in full scale as a result.

The tone quality of the performance collected to this album to overlap with the performance of above-mentioned "Live In NYC" as the overall impression of this album is very recorded by the bad situation. It is guessed that a basic tape was adopted as it was. Tone quality has the impression almost blocked in the interior. The high pitched sound and the tone quality of Bass give the impression that hardly occurs ahead. However, the performance that this Trio did as the entire flow might do a very high-quality performance when thinking including a technical part and the arrangement. The state of Jaco Pastorius might not have been good at all. However, Jaco Pastorius is said that there was often a state with a good condition in the flow of the state in the limit. Even if various situations are considered, the performance and the record that this Trio did will be able to be caught as a page of one history.

The sound of Trio explodes to "Invitation" at once in fast Passage because of the theme with the guitar. Ad-Rib that Hiram Bullock does to the flow that multiuses the rhythm of the samba twines. The performance of Trio has exploded completely. Jaco Pastorius that the state is never good is an expert in this album in complete. Solo of Bass launched after it returns to the theme is complete again. The listener will learn the height of the quality of this performance if the part where tone quality is bad is not thought. The taste of this Trio is exactly demonstrated enough. The dash feeling of Trio that never stalls is refreshing.

"3 Views Of A Secret" was a tune that had been offered at time when Jaco Pastorius was on the register in Weather Report. The point that should make a special mention will include the performance of Jaco Pastorius of the keyboard in this tune. The obbligati of the keyboard in close relation to a beautiful theme with the guitar gives a different arrangement to an original composition. A beautiful ballade that flows slowly gives width due to the explosion of the drum. However, an elegant flow is always continued. The perfection of the performance that they do by introducing the keyboard into Trio will go up.

"Son Of Creeper" is intensely performed adding the part where the element and the humour of Rock exist in the rhythm of HalfTimeShuffle. The technology of Trio might be very high-quality. An intense guitar and the rhythm that moves freely are features in the line of repeated Bass. It listens to the form of the performance that can be shifted to the element of reggae because the rhythm of three has been introduced in the basis. Harmony and the line of Bass are always experts.

The rhythm of steady Rock twines round "Ode To Billy Joe" with the parts of a few Funk. Especially, the arpeggio of the guitar with the anacatesthesia shows a good flow. The contribution of Solo and Bass of a unique guitar is always good feeling. The drum that gradually becomes intense and moves from the element of Hard Rock freely pulls the flow to the tune.

"Continuum" might be exactly a tune of the representative of Jaco Pastorius. An original composition is faithfully reproduced. The usage of Chord of the arrangement of CowBell of the drum and the guitar also contributes enough to the tune. An original arrangement of Trio is given to the anacatesthesia of the tune and the tune advances.

The respect that this Trio exactly paid Herbie Hancock "Dolphin Dance" appears. Individuality might appear indeed in standard Jazz performed as complete guitar Trio. The usage of the sound of Solo and the keyboard of Bass splendidly contributes to the tune. This done performance of three people might exactly include a lot of unique parts.

This album might not be taken up well in the work to which Jaco Pastorius is related. However, the content will be able to be taken up as a very high-quality performance in the item of Jazz/Fusion and a series of work of Jaco Pastorius.
