4 stars Next to Stephen Parsick and to Frank Makowski, Pete Namlook figures among the most notorious German artists who have contributed to give a rebirth to electronic kosmische music and who have brought it on new musical territories, surfing on the modern electro new wave. Published in 1993, Air is the first offering from Namlook in solo and until now it remains one of his finest. This album is a dynamic-impressionistic voyage through deeper spaces and to the above sky. It provides impressively effective nebulous synthesised waves, hypno-pulsating grooves for sequencers. The album is instantaneously captivating and never boring despite of the repetitive tempo. The album culminates with the moving astral piece called Arc and with the pretty entrancing Lost in Passion. Highly recommended for fans of T.D, Klaus Schulze, Software and those who like to meditate on spacey atmospheric sound textures.
