3 stars The forgotten Yes album ?

I have yet to read a review of this album which has not branded this album as the long forgotten Yes album. And I am afraid this review is no different from any other reviews of this, their second album. Sorry about my lack of imagination, btw.

The music here is like the classic Yes setup and the vocalist is a true copy of Jon Anderson. The only difference is Realm's more contemporary expression with more synths than keyboards. Steve Howe's imaginative guitars is also sadly missing here. The songs are not up to Yes high standards either.

So what we have got here is a good symphonic prog album in the Yes alley (did I mention Realm sounds like Yes ?) with some really good tracks like Waterfall and the title track. Some of the stuff here would not disgrace a Yes album from the 1980s. Some of the stuff here is throw away stuff. The drum solo in the middle of this album is.......... well, madness. This is an album which soothe the ears, but not prickles them. I happens to like this album and it is an almost obligatory purchase for the diehard Yes fans.
