In the past year, a wave of new progressive bands has begun to emerge in Turkey, and the albums they've released are musically quite satisfying. Among them, the debut album by the newly formed Turkish band The Leavers, released recently, is particularly impressive. This highly experimental, all-instrumental album by a trio of talented musicians falls somewhere between post-rock and post-metal in terms of genre. The 62-minute, guitar-oriented double album features intricate drumming and an energetic, up-tempo sound. You won't be bored for a moment while listening to this marvellous release - which I rate 5/5 - and you'll find yourself wanting to play it again and again.
