5 stars First, I give this 5 stars because it has 3 or 4 of the FK's best songs ever and some of the best songs in progressive rock. Yes it's a little uneven and contains 2 or 3 throwaway, but in a massive undertaking this long that's to be expected. First the masterpieces:Hit me with a hit, Self consumIng Fire, And on a High Note, Minor GiantSteps, Touch my heaven, Life will kill you,Man of the world, and the absolute perfect What if God is alone. The epic Monsters and Men and the two instrumentals are strong too. The throwaways: Jealousy, Bavarian skies, and mommy leave the light on. Overall this is the best songwriting on any FK album beside Unfold the Future which is why that album is number 1 in the FK cataloge and this is two. It also includes some of Roine's best guitar work and Tomas Bodin's best keyboard work. Hasse's vocals are as strong as ever, Jonas proves why he's the best bassist in modern prog as usual, and the new drummer,Marcus is no Zoltan but very solid. I love the new vinyl remaster and the way it's sequenced. I feel like this album has gotten a bad rap for what some consider padding and the highly controversial lyrics in Bavarian skies, but in no way does that take away from the sheer fact that this album is sheer genius and on my top 10 list of all of modern prog. It deserves 5 stars in my book!
