2 stars When I first heard this single all over the radio I knew that "Under the Pink" was going to disappoint me, and it remains my least favorite Amos work. "God" is probably my least favorite track on the album, especially following all of the wonderful sounds we heard on the debut. The oppressive radio overkill here didn't help matters. Perhaps an album like Pink was necessary to buy Tori the chance to do stuff like Pele but it doesn't make it any more palatable. The track is repetitive and not very interesting, more constructed than truly felt. Next comes a version of "Home on the Range" with alternate Cherokee-edition lyrics, which is also pretty forgettable. The last two tracks comprise "the piano suite" showcasing Tori's fantastic abilities on the solo piano. Soothing and marvelous to hear her playing without other sounds oppressing the keys. Of her many singles I think this is the weakest, and even the extras here are not enough to recommend it. Only for Tori collectors.
