3 stars This is a new name to me and one album that takes time to penetrate.

This is Giorgio C.Neri's debut album and an album with a wide variety of expressions. From space rock via symphonic prog, heavy prog and RPI to eclectic prog. In short, this album tries to cover most bases.

This is exactly the typical mistake, in my book at least, solo artists within the prog genre does on their debut albums when they have been cut off from their main band. In this case; Agarthi Sound Factory. The ambitions takes over and the end result most often becomes a muddle.

Giorgio C.Neri has managed this better than most others. The album is a very personal album, yes, but it is also a very good album. It is obvious that he knows what he is doing and that the quality is there. Just listen to the best song here, the excellent and soaring L'Ultima Danza. The rest of the album is still good, but it is too much of a criss cross between styles and expressions for my liking. But I still enjoy this album. But it is not a truly great album.
