3 stars In the same year that Universal kept the album "By the sons of Mandrin" aside, Ange went into the studio and recorded it all in French. This CD is a registration of the "Par le fils de Mandrin"-tour in '77 and from the very first moment it's clear that Ange sound in French more expressive (especially the vocals from French progrock legend Christian Decamps), the keyboards sound more lush (a lot of Mellotron and many improvisations on the synthesizers) and the guitars are more powerful (great soli, from sensitive till howling and biting). This live-CD comes close to the captivating climates on the other live album (from '77) entitled "Tome VI", my favorite Ange album. IF YOU LIKE ANGE THIS IS A WONDERFUL ALBUM! IF YOU ARE NOT FAMILIAR WITH ANGE, THIS IS A GOOD ALBUM TO START!
