4 stars Superfetazione is one of those electro-acoustic albums that seems haunted at its core, and it isn't a bad thing. This music is primarily dark, epic, abstract drones that work as a canvas for eerie field recordings. I've always loved field recording-based music because it gives the music a very earthy and organic feel - something to connect with on a slightly more comfortable level which allows the mind to really interact with the sounds. Mushy's music tends to be very black-and-white in sound due to its bleak abstractness, almost sounding like a soundtrack to some of the darkest film noir. A mental painting that I experience while listening to Superfetazione is that of an abandoned mental hospital, because some of the music does take on a ghostly schizophrenic kind of emotional stance. Something I particularly like about this album is how full the sound is, which is something that is surprisingly lacking on most electro-acoustic type albums. Recommended for fans of Peter M., Lustmord, Matteo Uggeri, and Lydhode.
