5 stars An impressive picture of Zappaīs band tour in 1974, with his most skilled group of musicians ever recruited. The line-up that recorded Overnite, Apostrophe, Roxy and One Size, is here represented in its highest complexity envolvment, including some memorable solos and quite impossible rhythm variations. With guys like the precise Fowler, the fast Ruth Underwood, the funky Duke, the monster Thompsom and the hilarious and dancinī Brock, itīs impossible to not believe that this album is a masterpiece. And it catches the group at the peak of the 74 tour ! The repertoire is the basic set list of this period, but some songs never released on LPīs, like Approximate, Dupree's Paradise and many other short interludes, are played here as fast as hell, and with an incredible precision, showing the technical level that Zappa and his guys had achieved at that moment. Itīs really impressive. The conventional live acts Inca Roads, RDNZL, Stinkfoot and the whole rest of the two discs are amazing stuff that deserves an obligatory listen of people interested in progressive live rock bands really showing technical habilities in almost every second of music presented here. Either in vocal parts or in instrumental tracks, the guys are very serious in what theyīre doing, and they do it with lots of fun. The comic side of this line-up is present here too, with some bizzarre dialogues between Brock and Zappa, where itīs almost impossible to not laugh. So, the cover is a little bit stupid anyway, altough the booklet is full of information. Five sta, definetely.
