2 stars This is the latest sampler from the Classic Rock Presents Prog magazine. Definetly one of the weaker ones in my opinion, in fact I can only come up with a top two best tracks instead of the usual three this time.

OPETH starts it off in style with "The Devil's Orchard" and yes this is a top two. The drumming here is incredible and check out the guitar around 6 minutes as it cries out. HAKEN is a band that gets a lot of praise around here but I fail to hear it. This is from their latest record and the song is called "Insomnia". I really like the instrumental intro but when the vocals arrive it ruins it.Yikes ! We do get another good instrumental section later. Average at best. WARMRAIN is band i'm not familiar with and there are quite a few on this sampler that I don't know. I do like this track alot with the gentle guitar to open as reserved vocals join in. It gets fuller each time on the chorus. I like how the guitar goes on and on late. Well done ! WHITE WILLOW'S "Floor 67" is the other top two. I feel emotion when the song kicks in around 1 1/2 minutes as Sylvia comes in vocally. Great sound before 5 minutes and later at 8 minutes. Such a good song and album I might add.

TOUCHSTONE is a band i've heard a lot about but this is my first listen. She is a good singer but for some reason there is a male singer too. I do like how heavy this track is. AIRBAG is next and while i do like this band i'm not sold on this song from their latest record. It's okay. JONO EL GRANDE offers up an avant-garde track that just doesn't do anything for me. Awkward comes to mind. Kind of like standing outside of the can waiting for Chas Bono to come out after he's drank some bad egg nog. Shoot me now. SWAN SEX really ? That's what you call your band ? I've forgotten what im listening to while i'm listening to it that how unmemorable this is.Thankfully after 5 1/2 minutes it gets better. THE MANTRA ATSMM is next with "Blue Army". I like this. We have a good female singer here. Matt Stevens offers up a really good instrumental in "Nightbus". VOYAGER's song "Broken" has a heavy beat with vocals but i'm just not feeling it at all. Not a fan. HEDH MOLLESTAD TRIO is next with a guitar led instrumental and it's great. TRIP LAVA closes out the sampler with a surprisingly aggressive tune.

So there you have it from Prognosis 21. Love the magazine though.
