4 stars This one is not for sale, produced for promotional purposes only, deserves a review nevertheless I want to assert forcefully. Five years Trail Records - that means 'Five Years In Space 2007 - 2012' - here we have a sampler which passes through all those albums which this exceptional New York City based label has released so far. So this is something like a best-of collection, sending us on a journey entering psychedelic, ethno/oriental, trippy and spacey fields from all over the place. Due to the fact that Alexander Tsalikhin and Vlad Milyavsky are continously searching for talented artists around the globe.

Probably a genre aficionado will already be aware of the Russian bands Vespero and Ole Lukkoye which offer psychedelic music infiltrated with native folk elements. Both are represented with one track. And featuring vocal couple Anisa and Roderick Romero Sky Cries Mary even appears with two exemplars. But especially the one or other insiders' tip turns this production to a really enjoyable one. Starting with Siddhartha for example, a band from Turkey which does not exist anymore ... unfortunately. They contribute with the exeptional Black taken from the album 'Trip To Innerself'.

Offering the groovy Soda KRTL - an aditional act from Russia - should be kept in mind. US outfit Beyondomatic delivers another highlight, the trippy Starbong where finally Chemical Breeze, hailing from Dortmund/Germany, appears with an atmospheric excerpt picked from the forthcoming compilation 'Psychedelic World Music - Discovery. Volume 1'. There we go, comprising 12 interesting songs in total ... however not an official release as such ... this compilation will evolve to a collector's item by all means.
