3 stars Look at the wonderful sleeve fantasy (by Paola TORRES), and listen to a very type of Space Rock that we can easily find much influenced by Hawkwind.

A Peruvian cosmic power trio JACKO WACKO were founded by Herrmann HAMANN (guitar, effects), Giancarlo REBAGLIATTI (bass), and Josu' VILCHEZ (drums), all of whom have been pretty influenced by Space Rock / Krautrock scene like Hawkwind or Amon Duul II. Their debut eponymous album has been released in 2012 via a Peruvian experimental rock label Buh Records.

Really heavy, deep, massive attacks created by the cosmic power trio as mentioned by Buh Records, a Peruvian distributor for them. Their play is powerful, enthusiastic indeed, and their precision upon creating rhythm and sound can always be solid and steady, even in their debut album. Their technique is excellent indeed, from the first tip of "Untitled (Track 1)" that takes me into their inner space.

Anyway, their soundscape in this album can be called as the golden standard of Space Rock mainly in the vein of Hawkwind. The first or second track sounds like Hawk-ish heavy, hypnotic riffs seasoned with spacey synthesizer beams like Acid Mothers Temple ... this mixture is amazing indeed, but not so challenging, not so novel for me.

On the other hand, the latter two tracks are interesting. "Untitled (Track 3)" is exactly speed space with improvised drumming kicks and loud guitar violence. Filled with dry-metallik noises like Liquidarlo Celuloide, another wonderful combo via Buh Records, they proceed in their ethnic, mysterious sound / noise extension. Also the last one is a grand theatre of guitar speed guru, rhythm sections' randomization, and aggressive blows with noise hatchets. Oh killa ones.

In conclusion, I can feel little Neues via their style upon the debut shot sadly, but their play is terrific and gives me an expectation they will create more and more fascinating one in future. Good luck, and please let me enjoy more.
