The third of three demos released by the band prior to their first album, this 2002 release sees them continuing to grow in confidence and willingness to experiment. By this time vocalist Sascha Burchardt had moved on, being replaced by the very similar sounding André Vuurboom.

The opening "Sedation" is a very assured piece, with constant changes to time and a reasonably complex structure. While guitar and vocals dominate the track, room is found for some good keyboard work too. The sound once again is very much in the DREAM THEATER mould, a tag which the band will find difficult to get rid of (should they wish to do so).

"Secrets of flight", at 9 minutes, is the longest track on any of the demos. It opens with frantic guitar and drums before the slightly slower vocal section backed with heavy riffing. Whether the rather rambling vocal sections, and multiple time changes justify the length is of course a matter of taste. The final track, "Killer banshee" is another long, intricate DREAM THEATER clone, with a lengthy intro which constantly shifts from burst to burst of guitar dexterity.

While this is probably Sun Cage's most mature demo to date, it is also perversely their least interesting. The music is just too derivative and bland. The tracks are currently available for download at the band's website, via the link from their page on this site.
