3 stars Dissonati is one of the unknown american prog band from recent years with their debute released in 2012 named Reductio ad absurdum. Well, what we have here is pretty much ok and enjoyble to my ears, no bad moments at all as ratings show here. I like the sound and how pieces are constructed and aswell like the voice(s) on this album. Not overly complex or with many instrumental sections, but this 3 guys can offer some good passages like on opening track Can You Hear Me?, a 10 min tune that show what musical package they have in their pockets, and I mean a great pieces with lot to offer, from great voice of Ron Rutherford who has a very warm and fits perfectly in this type of music to very nice keyboards and guitars. Hagelbarger sign one piece Age Of Foeces and aswell sing, nice track aswell little influenced by Peter Hammill specially in vocal parts. Middle Man is another worthy track, very much influenced by King Crimson, specilly in guitar works, like all the pieces from the album, but in the end Reductio ad absurdum is more then pleasent. Some sax and woodwinds added in the mix here and there giving a fairly decent atmosphere. So all in all I like what I've heared here, ok, is nothing really impressive or groundbreaking, but is a good release that worth to be discovered, at least from KC listners. 3 solid stars for sure and don't judge it buy the low ratings , is not that bad as many pretend to be.
