Progressive Biography

So... ehm.. here I go
My prog journey started in April 2004 because of a "Top 100 best guitarist" article in a Rolling Stones magazine (who would say that the prog hating jerks would start it all for me?). There was this one guy in position 42, a guy called Robert Fripp. The first thing I noticed was... this guy is sitting down in a concert!!!... what's with that??? But for some reason I wasn't turned off by this ( I mean, how could a rock fan not be?), but I got very interested instead. So I read the article and got quite interested in this guy and his band, the so called King Crimson. There was one song in the article, "21st century schizoid man", so I said well... let´s check this band out. And so it was I went to the record shop to look for a King Crimson album where this song was, and I found one; "In the court of the Crimson King". I find several things about it quite strange, first of all the cover, then the fact that there were only five songs, and each song had like many titles (of course this is by no mean strange in the prog world, but for a straight rock fan it is), but, "ok, I´ll take it". And since then my life has literally changed, "In the court..." is still my favorite album ever, King Crimson my favorite band and Fripp my favorite musician. That was just the first but crucial step forward, Yes, Genesis, Jethro Tull, Pink Floyd and all the others would quickly follow...
