1 stars This person, who expelled Richard Wright from Pink Floyd, always was and still is really a master of ugly music. Yes 45 years ago he did The Wall, I never forget about that. (Though I also remember that the two best tracks on The Wall were written by Gilmour...) This is not the only case when a no-talent hack becomes a genius once in a lifetime. But his solo album from 1984 is ugly and only ugly. No melody making at all, no musical theme, just crooked, deformed sound constructions and sharp switches from quiet guitar strumming and mumbling to deafening thrashing plus nasty heart-rending squeals (sometimes even out of tune) with no sign of vocal. I admit that Waters is a good lyricist (not surely a genuine poet but undoubtedly a lyricist). However he's not a musician at all. Not a composer, not an instrument player, and of course not a singer.
