4 stars Tang-go is a double Best of album gathering a compilation of Tangerine Dream's best tracks of the 90s and the late 80s (anyway after the departure of Christopher Franke). I am rather fond of their 70s - mid 80s period, I never loved none of their albums after that period. But there were sometimes some tracks that I found innovative, enjoying and worthy of interest. And, by magic, it is as these tracks did a rendez-vous on this double album.

The music here is a mix between 80s electronica and modern 90s ambient/techno music. The result is efficient and avoids the easy listening and heaviness in which it could have fallen into. Just listen to pieces like Mothers of Rain, Catwalk, Pixel Pirates and Meng Tian for example of punchy space music. Tang-go is really a good flight over TD's best moments of the 1988-2000 period and a very good investment for all electronic fans !
