4 stars The cover says it all. With four previous album covers distorting and hiding his face, Peter is ready to go full-force into the open. As soon as "Red Rain" starts, you'll know that everything has finally come-together; Peter has found his voice and it only gets better from here. He has settled with his blend of melancholic pop, ambient sections, and world-beat influences to craft some very consistent and convincing songs. "Sledgehammer" is quirky, but fun nonetheless. And I'm sure you will all recognize "In Your Eyes" as soon as it starts. Personally, I didn't even know that was a Peter Gabriel song until about a month ago.

This isn't progressive rock, nor is it really rock in the first place. But it's Peter Gabriel and his songwriting and storytelling skills haven't lost a single beat. This is top-notch music; the result of almost ten years of soul-seeking and experimentation. I don't know about you, but I think it truly paid-off.
