4 stars This is an album that might be underrated sofar in symphonic sections. I don't want to claim that MV is doing absolutely new things here, their sense of melody is totally great though. I've known this album for more than a year now, of course there were other symphonic albums going out all the time, i know a lot of them , but this one has always been a favorite with me.

Why?, as i said earlier the melodies are outstanding, also Bernardo Lanzetti's singing much maligned on other albums( that i don't know yet) seems to be totally right applied to this album. I think this album is close to a symphonic mastrerpiece. It has been total enjoyment for me to listen to all of it once i'd started.

Stiill. don't go to MV if you want to hear typical italian symphonic prog music, MV doesn't sound italian at all, imo you're better advised to listen to Randone or Notabene in this case which are typically modern italian sounding bands (and very good). If (like i am) you're just interested in symphonic rock, mellotron, great guitar, superb melodies, great singing this one must be for you.

This is a 4.5 star album imo. since there are only 2 albums i'd give 5 stars sofar this is a very high rating for me.Mangala vallis fully deserves these marks as far as i'm concerned though. Terrific album , give it a try at least.
