5 stars My favorite Zeppelin album!!

The Rain Song is pure bliss, Led Zeppelin's crowning acheivement in beauty and perfection.

Houses of the Holy takes everything Zeppelin experimented with on their earlier albums and meshed them all together on this album. The folksy, acoustic sound of III is apparent on a few tracks (Over the Hills and Far Away).

Maybe its hard to say exactly WHAT this music is because its simply Zeppelin's own sound. Jimmy Page plays flawlessly, as usual, and Robert Plant sings his heart out with his ever-eroding voice, but does well just the same.

Reggae and Soul are experimented with also, The Crunge and D'yer Ma'ker. Each track is different from one another, but each track is enjoyable and timeless, i was very surprised with it on my first listen.

To me, this is when Led Zeppelin peaked, all though i like all of the following albums (all the way up to In Through the Out Door), they never made an album with such a variety of styles that blended together so well after Houses of the Holy.

So to hear Led Zeppelin's most polished album, Houses of the Holy is the one to hear.
