3 stars This Canadian trio is an intriguing, but frustrating experience to listen to in this live release.

The musicianship is excellent, the individual members pull off some playing here few can repeat after them, the interplay between the members is exceptional too; pulling off one quirky intricate section after the next, odd rhythms, more or less subtle disharmonies mixed with harmonic playing, all done with ease. Multiple changes of pace and style in each song; and none of the guys make any faults whatsoever, folllowing each other impressively tight.

My frustration for this release is that high class musicianship dominate totally - and as I'm a guy that's a sucker for strong tunes and intriguing atmospheres technical abilities and classy musicianship in themselves don't intrigue me.

Anyone fond of said qualities will love this release though, and probably see it as one of the highlights of 2007.
