5 stars This is, pardon me to all over groups, one of the most outstanding 2 record sets to ever come out; before the advent of the internet, I might not have been in the loop to understand, it was comprised of singles sides mainly alluded too. With only a handful of albums under the belt, it is difficult to classify this as strictly a compilation; about this time, in a record store in Santa Fe New Mexico, I did scope out, a bootleg copy named "My God" by Jethro Tull, comprising of some concert work, but studio as well. I've got to think, there may have been a black market on JT music and the record company became opportunistic and decided to make a legal release of these songs. The original maroonish colored textured album cover; cold flutist on the cover belies the treasure that lies within. This is a classic almost by accident. 5 stars; prog rock definitely; rather deep with the long song selection; very long, an accidental masterpiece from JT's most classic period of music rennaisance. One note, someone mentioned "Dharma for one" and on the "Too Old To Rock 'N' Roll" album, Ian refers to Jack Keroauc in one song. Kerouac is the author of the Dharma Bums; Beat Generation Literature. Cross-reference this and an additional note making both more enjoyable. Landmark JT tunes such as "Living in the Past" seem to find there first entry into long playing wax records here; as if nature intended it and this is where they belong vs. the countless compilations.
